The first of our bees will arrive back in Maine this week, and we will start making nucs from there. We will do our best to work through the list as efficiently as we can! When we begin to have nucs available and get to your name on the list, we will call you!

Spring 2017 Beginner Beekeeping Course
5 classes Total. 4 “classroom” classes total Wednesdays from 6:30-9:00PM; March 15, 22, April 5, April 12 plus a field day (hands on) May 6th.
Classes will be held at Swan’s Honey, located at 332 Bessey Ridge Rd, Albion, ME 04910. Call 437-2251 to preregister for the class.
Classes open to ages 12 and up. beginners as well as more experienced beekeepers are welcome. Past classes have included students of varying experience levels, thereby generating a lot of informative discussion among students.
Instructors: Lincoln Sennett
Cost of class will be $65.00 and will include handouts and the textbook “The Backyard Beekeeper”
Spring 2017 Advanced Topics Beekeeping Course
5 classes – 4 Thursday Evenings from 6:30 to 9:00PM; March 16, 23, April 6, and April 13 plus a field day on May 6th. Topics to be discussed will include making nucs,; queen biology and requeening with established nucs, queen cells, and mated queens; population dynamics and producing honey; wintering hives and nucs; and comb honey production in Maine. Other topics will be based on participant requests.
Cost: $65.00 includes handouts and the textbook “Better Beekeeping”.
Come visit us at the Common Ground Fair in Unity, ME, September 23rd – 25th! We will be in our usual location in the Agricultural Products area with a great supply of honey. Lincoln will be speaking in the Hayloft tent on Saturday and Sunday during the fair and our store in Albion will be open 8-6 on Friday and Saturday if you need to stop in for beekeeping equipment of any type.
